Fed by the artificial 120-acre lake behind it, this picturesque cascade was created in 1746-68 as part of the extensive landscaping carried out by the artist brothers Thomas and Paul Sandby for the Duke of Cumberland, after his defeat of Bonnie Prince Charlie at Culloden.

I was a student nurse,residing in Lindsey Smith House until 1969. Happy days
hi,i was a nurse at st peters hospital,chertsey,i lived at lindsey smith house,nursing comodation ,in the 80s ,brings back memories,best part of my life ,nursing.
I remember this totem pole. There was also an obelisk to, "Butcher" Cumberland. As I recall it was placed in front of a bank of rhodedendrons which was part of Windsor Great Park.
i started as a cook then as plumpers mate in the late 60s ive been up the tower witch was the holding the water tanks.the padded cells were in the basment at the front of the building,they still had some of the padding.at the time my mum worked in the laundry down the hill.there is a tunnel witch runs from the sanatorum to the laundry at the bottom of the hill.my family lived in verginia water for some time by the name of jonson and my dad everest lived in hurst lane
