More about this scene
Baron Rothschild transformed a bare hilltop near Aylesbury into a wooded park, crowned with a spectacular French-style chateau. In the valley he built Waddesdon, an estate village. On the left is the Five Arrows Hotel, a splendid Arts and Crafts building with elaborate moulded brick chimneys, built in 1887. The five arrows was the badge of the five Rothschild brothers.
