More about this scene

A well-worn path indicates a bridge frequently used by the locals. In the distance is a corn-grinding post mill (centre left), possibly owned at this time by a Mr Mallett, whose worry was that the building of houses nearby would keep the wind from the mill's sails. Old age and possibly the fiery enthusiasm of local youths brought the mill to its end shortly after the photograph was taken.

Sparked a Memory for you?

If this has sparked a memory, why not share it here?

Walking with Bob my border collie through the salt marshes and dunes. Listening to the birds in the marshes and trying not to get lost! Keeping Bob away from people as he's a very cautious rescued border collie. The sense of peace whenever I have returned here. Now sadly without my dearest brave Bob but always remembered.
