Wallingford, The Diving Stage c.1955

More about this scene
Not to be outdone by Benson, Wallingford also had a diving stage in the mid 1950s. Judge William Blackstone, who wrote Commentaries on the Laws of England, paid for the spire of St Peter's Church, which we can see here in the background. He is buried in a vault inside the church, which is now redundant.
