More about this scene
A strangely unfamiliar sight to today's motorists: Wilderspool Causeway is virtually traffic-free. The two parked minis and the Volkswagen car show that this is the era of The Beatles. Next to Marshall's familiar newsagent's shop, James Bennett & Co. are still manufacturing shirts and pyjamas; St James' Church, built in 1829, dominates the scene.
