More about this scene
Burton's the tailors displays its fine facade with Portland stone columns, which was created by rebuilding the corner of Horsemarket Street and Buttermarket Street in 1937. Buttermarket Street was the favourite haunt of GIs from Burtonwood airbase: they would drink at the Pelican Inn (to Burton's right), dance at the Casino Club above, go to the movies, or play billiards at the domed Empire building.
