More about this scene
The original church was Norman, but was removed to make way for a larger one built by the Knights Templars. The village lies in the shadow of Chanctonbury Ring, one of the most famous landmarks on the South Downs. Formerly an Iron Age circular rampart and the site of a Romano-British temple, Chanctonbury Ring rises to 783 feet.
