Arthur Mason Born And Bred In Weaverham

A Memory of Weaverham.

Arthur Mason is my Paternal great grandfather he was born in August 1896 son of Fred Mason and Jane Ann Mason (nee) Yates. in 1901 according to the Census record i found on Ancestry he was just aged 4yrs old living with mother and father and his siblings:
Fred Horace Mason aged (17)
Ernest Mason aged (11)
Herbert Mason aged (10)
Annie Mason aged (7)
Harold Mason aged (2)

by the 1911 Census:
The family had moved to 4, Brook Street, Lostock Gralam, Cheshire.
Arthur's Occupation being a Labourer at the age of 14,
Living with mother and father
and his siblings:
Ernest Mason aged (22)
Herbert Mason aged (20)
Harold Mason aged (12)

1911 was the last recorded census record.

Arthur was in the Army as we have a bible that was given to him by a Clara Bert in Ypres France, on the 15th May 1915, it was later handed down to my grandad Cyril in 1934.

Up until 1923 when Arthur Married he stayed in the same family home, 4, Brook Street, Lostock Gralam, Cheshire.
On the 23rd August 1923 Arthur aged 27 Married Margery Pearson in Cheshire, in 1924 they had their first born son Arthur Mason, in 1926 they had their second born son Cyril Mason (my grandfather), in 1928 they had their first born daughter Barbara, in 1930 they had their second born daughter Olive and in 1932 they had their last child Eileen.

Arthur sadly passed away at the age of 37 in 1934 there is only one record i have managed to locate with a photo of an Arthur Mason i am told that i look like him and so does my Aunty Jose who is Arthurs granddaughter.
