More about this scene
Set behind battlemented walls and surrounded by a moat fed by the resurgent waters, the palace was begun by Bishop Jocelin in the 13th century. Added to by his successors over the next two centuries, it served as the bishop's official residence. These ruins and other buildings still used today are set amid peaceful gardens, which are a haven from the city outside.
