Thank You

A Memory of Wembley.

Well I am overwhelmed that you remember my family and Waldecs. I was not expecting to hear from anyone as I know so much has changed. Yes I remember the fish and chip shop well George's and his lovely family. I only have found memories of growing up as a child in north Wembley. Very sad to leave when I around 11 years old. I am grateful for your tips on approaching the council or the library for information. I will do that.
I followed my nanna path and now live in Liverpool. Sad all my family have passed away. I have three cousins I grew up with. But can't seem to trace them either.
Yes the sindy wall paper I remember well. My grand parents had a diverse work force and had employed afro Caribbean people. I can't remember there name's. I will ask my dad as he worked at Waldecs for a while.
I will continue with my quest to find photographs of my family and our many happy years in North Wembley.
Take care
Maxine

Hi 👋
I'd like to update my post. My cousin Denise finally found me during last years lock down. Apparently she googled Waldec North Wembley after a framed photograph of our Grandparents fell off the wall. Dee started to reminisce about our family and began the search.
We met up for the first time in 43 years in September 2020. We keep in regular contact and are due to meet up again this September. Denise is coming up to Liverpool for a few days to stay over. I can't believe I have finally found a close member of my family.
I'd like to thank everyone who messaged me back in 2015. Without the messages this would not of happened.

Warm regards
Maxine ❤
I just found this page and loving the memories, so glad you found your cousin!
George's was a treat !! We would go with Dad.to get.the food and he would let us have a go each on the one armed bandit.! George was a gorgeous man!! So sweet and always chatty!
