More about this scene
On the road to Pickering, we pass through the two sides of Ayton. A Norman castle was established here by the De Aton family. High Hall, to the left, dates from the 18th century. The railway ran past the village from 1883 to 1950 on its way from Scarborough to Pickering and beyond. The Forge Valley is a delightful winding drive through the forest.
