West Bay, Looking Towards Bridport 1937

More about this scene
This view looks north-eastwards from East Cliff, over the older administrative and commercial heart of what used to be called Bridport Harbour. Shingle was still being removed from the wide shingle beach (bottom left), and the branch line had been extended to the seaside at West Bay Station (centre right). Closer to the beach is the West Bay Hotel and the Old Storehouse (centre). Behind is the George Hotel, with caravans on the other side of the River Brit.
