More about this scene
This view of the basin from its entrance lock adjacent to the Trent, shows a nearby warehouse and the Crown Inn, now the Waterfront Inn, across the water. The Chesterfield Canal begins at the distant hump-backed bridge beyond a moored motor cruiser. The 'Trent Valley Way' long-distance footpath stretches from here to beyond Nottingham.
