More about this scene

This view is taken from the Rozel Hotel in Birnbeck Road. The twin tram tracks in the road indicate a passing loop, as most of the line was single track. In the distance the Grand Pier can be seen. If you follow its line, you can just see that it extends way beyond the Pavilion. In 1907 it was extended to make it nearly twice as long as it is today. The extra section was dismantled in 1916.
