A Memory of Whatstandwell.

A trailer holiday at Whitsun in late April. All I can remember was that the site was alongside the river and I tried to catch tiddlers in a jam jar, heck I was only 3 1/2 but I would like to know where the trailer park was. We lived in Chaddesden.

This would be Merebrook Farm, Owned by Farmer called Alsop who also kept a few milking cows, Our dad took on hols here in thr fifties and sixties. Ther were train carriages and a double decker bus converted to holiday homes. The site is on the right of the A6 after crossing Derwent Bridge towards Matlock. Now advertising Luxury Holiday homes for £200,000.00 plus
