Murder In Montrose Avenue, Whitton - a Memory of Whitton.

I'm not sure how this website works so I hope this ends up in the correct place.
Someone mentioned a murder in Whitton. I remember it well. It must have been in about 1959 or 1960. I was at secondary school. A young man who was mentally ill, murdered his mother and father with a bayonet and then fled.
He was found wandering along the railway line in a confused state.
My father was in the police at the time.
