This view of the minster's north side from the High Street also shows the railings which once surrounded it. Like many other churches, the minster sacrificed its railings in the Second World War, when they were cut down and sent to munitions factories to be melted down and recycled. Far left is part of Sansom's ironmonger's shop, demolished in 1905.

I enjoyed this 2008 Wimborne Folk Festival and consider it one of the best of the many I have performed at with Whitethorn Morris over the last 20 plus years. The Saturday procession was packed with spectators enjoying both the performers and the glorious weather - there must have been hundreds watching from the Minster Green alone!
