Memories of Windsor


Opposite my Aunt Alice's house on Duke Street, Windsor. These terraced houses are all boarded up which seems a waste.

As a teenager living in the Old Kent Road back in the early 1960s, Windsor was surprisingly accessible to me. I spent most summer Saturdays fishing the lock cut at Romney Island. This is the view you get from your plane as it circles to land at Heathrow Airport. It is awesome from this height and seems to go on forever.

Living approx, six miles from Windsor, one on a clear night could just see Windsor castle. I have been often told that Her Royal Majesty had her own country house where I lived and that on occasions she would reside there rather than in the Castle itself.
