More about this scene
Park Street 1892 North-west from Winsford we reach Exford, where the River Exe is but a stream. This village is virtually the creation of its 19th-century rector, Joseph Relph, who built large numbers of houses to double its size, including Tarrs Inn, which we can see in this view, with its large sash windows. This was itself rebuilt around 1900 as the Crown Hotel in an Arts and Crafts style.
