Worcester, High Street c.1950

More about this scene
Perhaps the most striking thing about this picture, to modern eyes, is the long line of cars, for High Street is now pedestrianised. The cars have been replaced with trees (complete with a huge wagtail roost in winter). The Shakespeare Café, on the right, is presumably hoping to pull in tourists by appropriating the Warwickshire bard.
