Worcester, The Tything 1936

More about this scene
The Tything is the northern continuation of Foregate Street and ribbon development began here centuries ago. Yet it was intermittent, and well into the 19th century there were fields on both sides of the road, while the postal address was 'near Worcester'. Part of a hamlet called Whistones, it was absorbed into the city only in 1835.
