More about this scene
At the junction of the A12 and B1177 (centre right) is an advertisement for the Spread Eagle Hotel, kept by George Zessel, whose father had the White Hart at Wickham Market. Ahead are some shops, including the tea room and the grocer and draper. The two nearest buildings on the left were demolished shortly after this date. The outline can be seen on the end of the Basketwear building.
