More about this scene
This view looks towards St Giles's church. It was built in 1472, and its 140ft-high tower, richly decorated with sculptured ornamentation, is traditionally listed as one of the 'seven wonders of Wales'. The church contains several interesting monuments, including one by Roubilliac. In this photograph we can see Victorian shop fronts in a range of styles, a glimpse of a world that time has swept away.
