More about this scene

Caption for Yarmouth, Bridge Road C1955: Yarmouth's original church was fired by the French raiders who twice attacked the town. Its castle, one of four blockhouses built by Henry VIII, was garrisoned until Victorian times, such was the prolonged fear of invasion from across the channel.

Memories of Yarmouth

Aside from teaching with a wonderful staff, brilliant headmaster, and receptive children I remember the ferry, and having fish and chips on the pier. Always a fond memory to go back to that time, as I met the love of my life, my soul mate that year!
