Many happy memories of my early life in Collyhurst living near St.Pat's. Does anybody out there remember the Carey family who lived in Stonehewer St.. Very friendly with two sisters, Bernadette and Philomena Carey. Lost touch many years ago but often wonder how they are or if they're still alive. Grateful for any information. Janet Mounsey.
One of my ancestors was the landlord of The Windmill Inn, 9 Tebbutt Street, Rochdale Road, Collyhurst, Manchester. His name was William McRoberts, and he lived there with his wife Eliza, sadly dying there in 1903 in his late 30's. I am struggling to find any pictures or information online about this pub other than a few landlords names from Kelly's directories and the census records. Would anyone know anything about this pub?

We had a back yard with an outside toilet and only a cold tap in the kitchen. Later on we did have a geyser by the kitchen sink which provided hot water. I have never found any photos of Leek Street at all ,even in the Manchester Archives. ...see more
