I have lived in the area all my life and don't recognise this hotel. It is a grand structure indeed but I cannot recall seeing it.

I believe that the hotel was on the Overstrand Road where Kings Chalet Park is now situated. I cannot tell you when it was pulled down.

It looks like the old Links Hotel which was up on the hill, behind the dance hall. It was roughly where the Country Club now stands.

The hotel can been seen in photo 70846 of the Golf Course which shows the hotel quite close to the Lighthouse. My father was injured whilst tackling the fire which destroyed the hotel round about 1949.

I agree with the 1st comment. the hotel is still there on the Overstrand Road above the park with the boating lake.
