These offices were built just before the last war on the corner where Tyler's the nursery gardens had been in 1900, but they have now gone. During the Second World War this building was the headquarters for the ARP. Although Alderley Edge village itself was not hit, the German planes used to fly over the Edge `and if they turned right they were going to Manchester, and if they went straight on, they were going to Liverpool`, remembers one resident.
