Aldershot, The Cambridge Military Hospital c.1965

How many happy hours I spent in this park as a child, teenager and young woman. The gardens by the tennis courts were so well kept and I remember sitting on the benches there with my mother when we walked back from town. Further memories include attending Mattins at St George's Garrison Church, just across the lines from my RASC barracks; running the Scout Group there in the Garrison Church Hall, as well as the Cubs, and then a note being slipped to me in my barrack room, requesting I take the Guide Company meeting as the Guide Captain and her Lt were unwell. My mum and dad first met in the Top Hat Cafe on Station Road in April 1969. I was born on February 26 1970! My parents were together for 30 years! Mum was Sue Gosden and my dad was Tony Girling! He was in the R.E.M.E. If you knew either of my parents, l would love to hear from you.
