Anstey lies in the eastward part of the parish of Alton. At the time of this picture, the house was newly built by Gerald Hall, son of Henry Hall, owner of one of Anstey's breweries. In 1901, Gerald lived here wtih his wife, Helen, his three daughters, Hilda, Brenda and Dorothy, and five servants.
