More about this scene
Just below the tree on the left-hand side is a white cottage and shop. In the house lived the caretaker for the Assembly Rooms, and the shop was occupied by Moses P Stoodley, a watchmaker from Haslebury in Somerset. In the taller building beyond, 11 High Street, was Frederick Batchelor's china warehouse.
