Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Friday 19th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Friday 19th December will be delivered in the New Year.

The small stone bridges still cross the beck in front of the village Post Office in the pretty village of Bishop Monkton, south of Ripon in the valley of the River Nidd. It gets its name from a long association with the former monastic community of the nearby city of Ripon.

Growing Up Here
This is where I grew up moving in when I was seven years old. I remember falling in the beck shortly after moving in as it was just across the road from the school. The locals always said that you weren't a local unless you fell into the beck. I remember that there were trout in it and some of the kids used to tickle them. Never got the hang of it myself. Bishop Monkton
We lived in Bishop Monkton for thirty seven years from 1967. The Post Office is now a private residence, as is the village shop (Central Stores). Central Stores was run by a guy called Mitchell, succeeded by 'The Broadbents', then 'The Rawlings'. Genealogy & Research Images

Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
