More about this scene

Built next to the Winter Gardens in 1896 in an attempt to compete with the Tower, the 220ft Gigantic Wheel was a financial disaster. The ride cost 6d and lasted for one complete revolution of the wheel. However, every time one of the cars reached the bottom the wheel was stopped while it was unloaded and reloaded.
