Memories of Braintree


Erm, this is not a picture of the White hart. It is a picture of Rayne Road, from the junction with Panfield Lane, looking out of town, in the direction of Rayne!!

Does anyone remember The Victoria Inn, East Street, Braintree? My parents owned this pub during the mid-50s (it was opposite the gas works - I attended Chapel Hill School. My surname then was Smith

I attended Manor Street School from 1943-1949 ish. I also lived at No17 Manor Street shown as one of the white cottages seen virtually joined to the school wall during those years.
