More about this scene
The famous diarist Samuel Pepys often came to Brampton, visiting his uncle. Pepys himself always wanted to retire to this pretty village, although he ended his days in Clapham. His sister, Mrs Paulina Jackson, was the last member of the family to live here, and a monument to her can be seen in St Mary's church.
