More about this scene
Newbridge Fields were created with a substantial grant from the National Fitness Council. The Gorsedd Stones were erected in preparation for the National Eisteddfod which was to be held here, but the outbreak of the Second World War delayed this event until 1948. The houses in the background can no longer be seen, as the trees have grown.
