Buxton, The Pavilion c.1872

More about this scene
The beautiful cast iron tracery of the Pavilion was only completed in 1871, so it was brand new when this photograph was taken. Designed by Edward Milner of Sydenham, it was built to allow visitors who were taking the waters the space to relax indoors, sheltered from Buxton's notoriously cold weather.
