More about this scene
Three carefully posed children standing on one side of the road contrast with two other boys stretched out on the opposite verge. Behind them is the Wesleyan Methodist chapel, built in 1876 and extended to the rear in 1904. It was closed in 2002, and has been carefully restored and converted into two houses by Robin Clevett. The open ground to the right is now occupied by more houses, while the village shop is in the middle foreground on the left.
