More about this scene

The castle at Castle Bolton was built by Richard, Lord Scrope during the reign of Richard II. The castle's principal function appears to have been residential: it was one of the first castles to have chimneys. Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned here for six months, and the castle was partially dismantled at the end of the Civil War.
