More about this scene

Near the end of Hiltingbury Road, and on a comer with a new Ashdown Road, a public house called the Tabby Cat was built and thrived for some time. However, it has been demolished recently and replaced with flats. The houses, flats and shops in Ashdown Road are seen in this photograph.

The Tabby Cat
Every day, on the way to primary school, Sherborne House I was driven past the Tabby Cat, from the Vicarage at North Baddesley where I lived. Every day I was told "Oh look, can you see the tabby cat?" A picture on the door I think it was supposed to be. I could never see it, and never knew where the others were looking...

The Tabby Cat
My Grandad Wellman (Herb) was the Landlord at the Tabby Cat for several years until he retired. Before that he was at the Leigh (Eastleigh) & Cons Club before that!!

On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
