The boys home was an awful place but I remember falling in love with a blonde haired angel who like me, attended Stepgates School. Her name was Gillian Vincent and I still have a photograph of her tucked away somewhere. This picture is of the pond near the junction of Pound Pond Road and Abbey Road in Chertsey. As a child I would walk pass this area on my way to school, but the 'pond' was more like a muddy ditch!!
