I’m researching the New Moon Café, The Street, Cobham. It was opposite The Little White Lion. It was owned by Bob and Lottie Bush during the war. My great-great grandmother Katherine Overington and my great-grandmother Ivy Cattermole lived and worked there in 1946 for some years, and apparently Ivy Cattermole took ownership. I’d love to know anything about the café or of my great-grandmother Ivy Cattermole. Many thanks, Sinéad
I remember in the late 1970's / early 1980's walking to a sweet shop in Tartar Road from Freelands Road, where my Nan lived.
The shop was converted back into a house shortly afterwards.
The memory is so vague that I am starting to believe I made it up.
Please could someone help me make sense of this?

I remember summer nights with my nana walking from Leigh road to the Tartar public house and sitting outside on the seats watching the traffic on Portsmouth road on Bank holidays eating crisps and drinking lemonade. Happy memories of my Nana Edith Lambert,does anyone remember her.
Does anyone remember Kingham's Grocers, My Grandmother Mrs Edith |Lambert worked there, she also worked there when it became Cullens.
does anyone remembered united dairies / unigate in anyards road in 1962 to 1964 a freind use to work there called nigel but can not remember his second name
I obviously don't remember the common in 1911, but I did live in Old Common Road number 15 from about 1943 until 1955. Where the children are sitting was The Common, and a herd of Fresion cows were often grazed there. Old Common Road ran parallel to the path running past what my mates and I called Cluggies pond, so called because the house behind the pond was owned by a Guy we think was German, and his name was something ...see more
This is where I used to fish as a kid and had many pleasant days pulling chub out of the arches!
My father worked for Eagle Star Insurance and during the war the company was relocated from London to Cobham in a large house called Oakmead (?) and my mother joined him (they lived in Westcliff Essex). When Dad joined the RAF my mother stayed in Cobham, she enjoyed the dances at the village hall and cycled around the area. Is Oakmead still there and does anyone remember the Eagle Star? Does anyone remember a children's clothing shop named Rosalind which was located on the same side of the street as the chemist which had a dentist's above it and near the La Capanna end of the High Street? I was taken in there during the 1960s for my clothes. Also I remember a small department store opposite (the name Gamages springs to mind but am not sure) which sold both women's and men's clothing. My father Clive Impey,was demobbed from the forces in 1946 and at the time the shop was a shoe repair shop. He converted it to a greengrocers shop and during the next few years it became a general store. My mother Jocelyn worked and helped out in the shop. Although we lived in D'abernon Drive, I spent most of my childhood around the Tilt and the River Mole, fishing!
