Painshill Bridge

A Memory of Cobham.

This is where I used to fish as a kid and had many pleasant days pulling chub out of the arches!

Hi Dean,
I learned to fish here as a boy, I used to fish just to the left of the picture. I can even remember my first days fishing, I caught about 50 minnows, 20 Gudgeon, a couple of small roach and a couple of Dace. Do you remember the weir that was there, we used to take our shoes and socks off and walk on the weir and fish from it. (Health and Safety would not have liked that!) Period I was there fishing was about between 1947 and until girls became more interesting about 1954.
Hi each, like many others I did a lot of fishing there,1959-1966ish,it was a brilliant spot and you never knew what you'ld catch, my oddest catches were a small tench and one of the grayling that cobham court anglers put in upstream.
