It was an all-ladies' college when I attended. Many friendships were made. Memories of teaching practices at schools in Crew and surrounds. First year students had to go out in "digs" and were able to live in the Hall of Residence during the second year. The second Hall of Residence was built during the year 1956. Although I was born in Nantwich (1956), in the Barony hospital, I grew up in Crewe until the age of about twelve. We lived in Ellis Street, which then, if memory serves me right, only had three houses, even though we were in number 8! I lived in Remer St from 1941 to 1966. I remember;- Bonars farm , Mosses farm, Barnetts farm all on Remer St. Groby Rd residents, Percy Barnett, Arthur and Lizzie Badrock. Powells farm. North St Chapel Beeches garage Elliots fish and chips , Greenway Dolly Bostocks shop Greenway Billy Stretch cobblers North St. He was deaf and dumb. Micklewrights farm Stoneley Rd. I was Susan Whittaker now Morton.
I worked in Crewe 1980/81 In a shop called Motorist Discount Centre anyone remember it, or anyone who worked there? I then worked at Brown Bros motor factors on Crewe gates estate for a couple of years. Happy days 😊
