More about this scene
There was a time when Crewe market was at its busiest after 6.30pm, workers having gone home for a bite to eat before coming out to shop. As with all markets, there was a wide range of goods for sale, including fish, meat, poultry, groceries, carpets, lino, clothing, and even patent medicines and cure-alls.
