Crewe, Queen's Park, The Gardens And Lake c.1960

More about this scene
Notice how immaculate the grounds are, and the numerous small flower beds all planted out with annuals. Maintaining gardens such as this is extremely labour intensive, and it is prohibitively expensive in today's world; now nearly all the flower beds have gone, to be replaced by open lawns and shrubs.
