More about this scene
Hello Sailor! The foot ferry from Greenway Quay to Dittisham still runs all year round from 7.30am. Just up the road is Greenway House, built by Sir Walter Raleigh's half-brother Sir Humphrey Gilbert, and later home to Agatha Christie. In World War II the big house was commandeered for housing American officers, and Christie moved to the thatched cottage on the quay.
