Toast

A Memory of East Ham.

Thank-you for your memory of "toast" at East Ham swimming baths. I can remember going with the school swimming back in the 60s & the treat of a slice of buttered toast afterwards costing 1 penny or 2 pennies for a topper -- I think that's the right price anyway !!! LOL

Toast and hot blackcurrant cordial and the smell of the ozone in the pools..great memory in the mid - late 50's
Hated the school swimming lessons though qeues of kids from Vicarage lane traping up High Street South..cork floats all chewed up..

Yes I remember the toast too! There was nothing like it after a swim. Thank you for reminding me of the cork floats. We also went from Lathom Junior School.
