More about this scene
About a mile south, along the B3411, is Frimley Green. Frith's photographer is looking from the middle of the green towards Wharf Road, with the through road crossing the centre of the view. The junction now has a mini-roundabout, which is very necessary in this traffic-choked area: try crossing the road to the green. The uninspiring shops and flats on the left were built around 1960, while the shop on the right, a late Victorian building with mock timber-framing, is now empty (October 2001).
