Hastings, Ecclesbourne Cliffs 1894

More about this scene
Ecclesbourne Cliffs 1894. The resort's great advantage, rather like Eastbourne with Beachy Head, was the rugged and romantic sandstone cliffs and glens immediately to the east. These provided cliff top walks and secluded valleys, easily accessed later in the century by the Cliff Railway. These rugged and picturesque landscapes appealed to holidaymakers, and still do: most of the area is now protected as a Country Park.
