Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Friday 19th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Friday 19th December will be delivered in the New Year.

Two soldiers relax on a bench next to the bandstand in the sunlight at Canbury Gardens, downstream of Kingston railway bridge. The army barracks was based not far away, just off Kings Road. It opened in 1875, covering 16 acres of land; it was the central depot for the East Surrey Regiment, later renamed the Queen's Royal Surreys. The barracks closed in 1959. One wonders if the children are discussing the way to find Alice's little secret wonderland.

Fa Cup Final 1971
Bentalls was a big shop, especially if like me you'd grown up in small villages & army bases. I can remember seeing a bespoke luxury car being parked between the escalators. Not having a TV at my aunts house in Raynes Park, where we were living for a few years, Cup Final day would see me catching buses to Kingston. Curved Windows Of Bentalls
I remember being fascinated by these as a child in the 60's - was like the hall of mirrors at a funfair as they distorted your reflection! There used to be an intriguing facade of an old vicarage built into the side of Bentalls, this was unfortunately lost when the place was structurally altered to make a shopping mall. I assume being a facade it wasn't under same protection as a complete ...see more

Cambridge Gardens
Started school at st peters infants i think it was Hawks rd .it wasnt far from cambridge gardens .my father was Philip Healey and mother was Vera Healey (nee Butler)Dad was an engineer in various places and my gran had house in youngs buildings .

Happy Days
I was born in Kingston in 1946 and moved with my parents to Bookham in 1961. My family connections to Kingston go back centuries and I am having great fun tracking them back. I am sure many people will remember my father who was Percy Parslow. He worked in the Jewellers and Siversmiths in the High Street from the age of 15 until we moved. Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
